Virgil Dugan, Board Chairman, Tijeras Foundation

Virgil is currently serving on the Board of the Tijeras Foundation; this Foundation's purpose is to "enhance, elevate, and encourage Biblically based, Christian ministries in New Mexico and around the world."  Prior to this position Virgil spent 34 years with Sandia National Laboratories where he managed research and development programs and oversaw corporate management responsibilities as Chief of Staff.  Virgil and his wife Sandy are members of Forest Baptist Church and are residents in the mountains East of Albuquerque, NM.  In addition to foundation and church related ministries, Virgil is a consultant in financial asset management, has served as trustee of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has participated on numerous organizational boards, and enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and three grandchildren. 

John Moore, CIS, CIMA, Board Member, Chairman - Zia Trust Company, President - John Moore  Associates, Inc.

John is a 1971 graduate of the Business Statistics Department of the University of North Texas.  After a career in the Air Force as a fighter pilot and tactics officer, he joined E.F. Hutton in 1980.  While at Hutton, John was a portfolio manager and regional research coordinator.  in 1990, he joined Prudential Securities as Senior Portfolio Manager and Retirement Plan Coordinator.  John is a Certified Investment Management Analyst, as well as a Certified Investment Strategist.  He provides investment consulting services to individuals, corporations, foundations, and retirement plans throughout the United States.  John is the author of the Almighty and the Dollar, and inspirational guide to family financial management.  John enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his wife, Connie, and their two children.

Dave Cauwels, Board Member

David Cauwels is the founder and retired chairman of Cauwels and Associates, a development company in New Mexico, and president of H.A. Simson Associates, a Colorado-based development company.  David has over 35 years of experience in multi-family housing development, financing and management, and has been responsible for the development of over 10,000 rental units in Albuquerque, Tucson, Amarillo and Dallas.  he is a graduate of Houghton College and earned a Master's degree from Denver Seminary.  He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Prison Fellowship and has served on the board of The Navigators, Christianity Today and World Wide Pictures.  David devotes most of his time to Christian ministries worldwide.  He and his wife Charlotte also have teaching and discipling ministries.  The Cauwels live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Ken Johns, Board Member

Ken Johns is a successful entrepreneur and a Christian leader.  After selling his automobile dealerships in 2000, he has focused his time on Christian ministries.  He has served on the Board of the Albuquerque Community Foundation, as Board Member and President of the University of New Mexico Board of Regents and numerous other civic and nonprofit boards.  In 1984, Ken and Cindy, his wife, started their own family foundation to teach their children Biblical principles of responsible stewardship over God's resources of time, talents, and money in the ministry of furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  In 1998, they started the Tijeras Foundation, a private operating foundation, with the primary mission to elevate, encourage, and enable the ministry of Biblically based Christian organizations.  Tijeras Foundation is primarily focused on community transformation in New Mexico and evangelism/discipleship locally, nationally and internationally. He and Cindy have two children and five grandchildren.

Arlene Sanchez, Board Member

Arlene Sanchez spent the last 25 years as Project/Program Manager at Intel Corporation, Vice President of Operations for ATMI, and Project Controls Manager at Sandia National Labs.  She received a bachelor's degree form California State University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.  Arlene is married to Kevin Lorenzen and they have four wonderful children.  Arlene enjoys athletics, reading, and cooking and she is the recipient of the Ethics in Business Award, the Corporate Hero Award and the Humanitarian Award.
