We are often reminded that God is the creator and sustainer of ALL (Colossians 1:16, 17) and that He entrusts His assets (spiritual, intellectual/emotional, time/talents, physical/financial to us for management oversight as His "stewards". The role/responsibility of the "steward" is to efficiently and effectively invest the assets entrusted to him/her by the Master in line with the Master's objectives/purposes/values and for the Master's honor. The steward is also expected to accurately and systematically account for returns on the investments to the Master (see Matthew 25:14-46). When a steward fulfills these responsibilities in a way that is pleasing to the Master, he or she may be referred to as a "noble steward" and is often described as a "generous person".
Two men that have served for many years on the NCF-NM board of directors are wonderful role models of "noble stewards" and of "generosity" as outlined above; they are David Cauwels and Ken Johns. Both Dave and Ken have invested the full suite of the assets entrusted to them in the Master's enterprises (NCF being just one of them). Many of us have been the beneficiaries of these investments, have been able to witness the realized temporal returns, and are expectant of the eternal values that are being recorded and will be described by the Master.
Dave and Ken rotated off the board of directors of NCF-NM on January 10, 2018; we will miss them in this specific capacity, but we rejoice as we witness the fruit of their continuing Kingdom Investments. Please thank God for these two men; thank them for their generous service; and pray for them in their Kingdom opportunities in the days ahead.
